Global Perspective
Prediction is a central capability of astrology. Astrology is not only a tool of knowledge, but a method for predicting personal and global developments.
Worldwide, sun and moon observatories emerged in almost all cultures. Much suggests that astrological forecasting led to their construction. How these predictions were created in detail has not been passed down – we are dependent on speculation about the knowledge of that time.
However, observation methods allow conclusions about prognostic procedures. In my experience, statements about harvests, war and peace were possible even with simple approaches. This explains the high importance of astronomy and the effort put into observatories in many cultures.
In modern times, astrological methods were developed that enable precise forecasts.
Knowledge was encoded, passed down fragmentarily or not at all, to protect one's own insights or due to lack of documentation. Astrological knowledge must therefore not only be further developed, but always rediscovered and described anew.
These breaks in transmission protect astrology from appropriation by science, ideology and religions as well as from organised commercialism.
